Resources: 2 pictures: carved Mäori warrior, war memorial soldier.

I’m going to show you two pictures of sculptures, and I want you to think about why they were made.

Commentary:
Many students were able to give simple stories to explain the intentions of the sculptures. Most students did not elaborate on the visual features of the sculptures.
