Approach: One to one
Instructions: Students were asked to examine two images of a creature, and identify three really useful questions to ask an expert about that creature so that they would have good information for a talk about one of the images.

Commentary:
The questions were generally clear, especially from year 8 students. Only about 50 percent of questions from year 4 students were judged relevant, compared to about 75 percent from year 8 students. However, a lower proportion of year 8 than year 4 students generated questions judged likely to produce a substantial amount of really useful information about the image.

Commentary:
About forty percent more year 8 than year 4 students identified at least three of the five desirable additions to the poster.
