The cartoon shows that the wolf is scary and really bad. I want you to think of the special techniques or effects that were used to make the wolf seem scary and bad.
I’ll write down all of the ideas you can think of, so that you can check what you’ve said.

Commentary:
Both at year 4 and at year 8 level, there was a small overall increase in performance between 1998 and 2002. Students appeared not very aware of the more subtle techniques used in the scene to create a scary mood but, in part, this may have arisen from the focus of the question on the wolf.
