Oral Presentation  : NILS AND NELLI
Approach: Team
1.5Mb
Resources: 4 sets of picture cards numbered on the back

Questions / instructions: I am going to give each of you a set of cards. The cards are jumbled up. I want you to put the cards into an order so the pictures will tell a story.

Try to put the cards into a suitable order, then think quietly about a really interesting story you could tell about the pictures. Try to entertain the rest of your team by telling a story that is funny or sad or interesting in some way. Use your imagination as much as you can. I will tell you when to start telling your story to the others.

Give each student one set of cards arranged in the defined order (see below). Allow students enough time (about 1 minute) to arrange their pictures and think about the story they will tell.

Commentary: This task focussed on story telling, using picture prompts. The results show little difference between year 4 and year 8 performance on some attributes and higher levels of performance by year 8 students on others.
