Commentary: |
On
average, about 16% more year 8 than year 4 students were able to locate
specific countries on a world map. Approximately 90% of year 8 students
compared to 67% of year 4 students were able to locate Australia. The
only other country located by more than half of the year 8 students
was Russia. Performance was very similar in 2005 and 2009. Year 4 boys
scored significantly higher than girls. |
