| Access Tasks |
 The
National Education Monitoring Project (NEMP) has been conducting
annual assessments of student achievement, values, and attitudes
at Year 4 and Year 8 since 1995. By popular demand, some of the
NEMP task materials and marking instructions are available for
use in schools. These tasks: |

allow
comparison of the performance of a school’s students with national
results on some aspects of the curriculum; |
• |
provide models
of good assessment practice; |
| • |
are highly valid and useful
for assessing student learning. |
| • |
can be modified for a school’s
own purposes; |

| Selection of NEMP
Access Tasks |
Some NEMP tasks can be taken directly from the NEMP reports without the need for access to specially
designed resources.
Others require access to task resources which were used or developed
by NEMP. Some of the tasks which require supporting resources,
including videos and other materials for practical work, have
been identified in NEMP reports as Access Tasks. These do not
include tasks that would require the distribution of copyright
materials.
