Questions / instructions:

Imagine that next week a class is visiting your school from another school, and you are going to make lunch for them. You will need to make enough food for 60 students. You will have to think about what you will choose to make them for lunch and how you will organise a group of people to help you. You will also need to think about how you will make the lunch look and taste interesting. There is a cooking room you can use, but the teachers say you will have to do everything yourself, and that you're not to buy ready made food. You won't have lots of money so try to use it wisely when you choose the food.

Your team's job is to work out a plan that will show everything you will need to do.

Here is a card that lists the things you will need to do. I'll read it through with you, and then you can start.
There is paper and a felt pen for making your plan.

Read the card titled ''Planning a Class Event'' with the group.

Planning a Class Event

Work together as a team to plan the special lunch.

1. Talk about the things you will need to plan.

Things to think about:

  • The food you will have.
  • How much food to get.
  • Where you will get the food from.
  • How will the food be prepared
  • How you will present the food so that it is safe
    and interesting.
  • Who will be involved and what they will do.

2. Make a plan to show what you will do.
Use the answer sheet to write down your plan.
